Project Description 

As project within the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's (BMBF) “Mathematics for Innovations in Industry and Services” program, it is the purpose of IMNET to determine current and future demand areas in Mathematical Modeling, Simulation and Optimization (MSO) by supporting the joint projects of the ongoing BMBF program through designated individual measures such as:

  • Challenge Workshops to determine current and future MSO demand areas, in cooperation with industry partners;
  • Modeling  Days  to facilitate networks between universities and local industries, in cooperation with local Chamber of Industry and Commerce;
  • Dissemination Events;
  • Network Activities, e.g. providing a database for academic and industrial partners;
  • Publications, e.g. success stories, position papers;
  • Public Relations Work, e.g. publishing an interactive newsletter;
  • Consulting for Political Stakeholders by working closely with representatives of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
