The SAMM Summer School provides an introduction to energy based modeling, simulation, and control of complex physical systems with particular emphasis on port-Hamiltonian systems. Port-Hamiltonian systems extend classical Hamiltonian systems by incorporating internal and external ports accounting for the storage, dissipation, and exchange of energy. This is a generic modeling concept which among other things allows for the efficient and natural modeling of multi-physics systems and networks.
