With great pleasure we announce the SAMM Summer School, April 4-6, 2016 and the subsequent Workshop, April 7-8, 2016 both on Energy Based Modeling, Simulation, and Control of Complex Physical Systems at the Technische Universität Berlin. The Summer School and the Workshop aim to bring together students, researchers, and professionals from applied mathematics and application sciences, as physics, engineering, chemistry, etc.
The SAMM Summer School provides an introduction to energy based modeling, simulation, and control of complex physical systems with particular emphasis on port-Hamiltonian systems. Port-Hamiltonian systems extend classical Hamiltonian systems by incorporating internal and external ports accounting for the storage, dissipation, and exchange of energy. This is a generic modeling concept which among other things allows for the efficient and natural modeling of multi-physics systems and networks.
The Workshop covers all topics related to energy based modeling, simulation, and control and is a great opportunity for researchers to present their recent work. One key intention is to foster the exchange between the different fields of application and the applied mathematics community. We strongly encourage all participants of the Summer School to join the workshop to get an overview of current research investigations and to get in touch with international experts in this field.
The registration fee for the Summer School is 25 Euro. Furthermore, we offer 10 financial scholarships for participants of the Summer School.
The registration fee for the workshop is 80 Euro.
